Serie A fallen giants AC Milan are determined to climb back to the top of the Italian football and are reportedly prepared to further invest in reinforcing their squad.

Rossoneri have splashed a significant amount of money which got close to the €200 million mark to bolster their ranks with top-class footballers during the last two transfer markets.

Despite the heavy investments, AC Milan did not enjoy the best of starts to the new season but are showing clear signs of improvement under the new coach Gennaro Gattuso.

The Italian heavyweights are currently sitting in sixth place in the standings, trailing the fourth-placed Inter Milan by four points. They are still very much in the running for European places and could can be backed at 5/1 betting odds to finish the season within top four.

Gennaro Gattuso is said to be already planning for next summer with two players emerging as AC Milan top summer targets.

Rossoneri are keen to add two top-class footballers to their ranks with the Italian media claiming that AC Milan are ready to pounce for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and Lyon star Memphis Depay.

Jack Wilshere is yet to pledge his long-term future to Arsenal with a new deal and could change the surroundings at the end of the season. Serie A champions Juventus have also expressed interest in England midfielder.

As for the Dutch winger Memphis Depay, he is enjoying a fantastic spell in France with 13 goals and nine assists in League 1 this season.
