Jansen out of favour at Spurs

The Mirror understands that Vincent Jansen’s time at Tottenham Hotspur is through after refusing a move away on transfer deadline day.

Brighton and Hove Albion, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion were all in for the Netherlands forward who had been deemed surplus to requirements at Spurs, who themselves completed a deal for Spain international Fernando Llorente.

He however opted to stay with the North London club and now finds himself behind Llorente, Harry Kane and Son Heung Min in the pecking order.

The twenty-three year old signed from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2016 and racked up thirty-eight appearances in all competitions.

However just seven of his twenty-seven league outings came from the start and he scored only six goals, two in the league and in each domestic up.

He has been capped fifteen times for his country, scoring seven times with his last appearance coming in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Bulgaria.
