Juan Mata rejects big-money China move

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has rejected an opportunity to seal a big-money move to the Chinese Super League, according to Mirror.

Former Chelsea man is heading towards the end of his contract at Old Trafford. Juan Mata is contracted to Red Devils until the end of the season and it is believed his representatives have been contacted by a Chinese Super League club.

Mata is under no rush to leave Manchester United despite his contract running out and has thus far rejected an opportunity to go east with what would have surely been a significant improvement on his £165,000 a week deal.

Manchester United are set to extend Mata’s contract by another year which would see Spanish international remain at Old Trafford until 2019.

The 29-year-old Spanish international missed only one match for Manchester United this season when he watched his teammates beat CSKA Moscow 4-1 from the bench in Russia.

The Spaniard scored one goal for Red Devils this season as he contributed to a 4-0 triumph against Crystal Palace just before the international break.
