According to Sport, Italian champions Juventus are attempting to convince Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt that his future is in Serie A – as opposed to La Liga. The Dutchman is one of the most wanted men in European football right now, with a series of high level clubs around the continent being interested in acquiring his services.

Juventus are supposedly prepared to pay upwards of €75 million for him, but in turn, Barcelona are also heavily interested in the idea of bringing him to the Nou Camp.

While Manchester City have also showcased their interest, it definitely feels like Juve and Barca are the two primary contenders as of this writing.

Apparently, as part of their pitch, Juventus ensured that de Ligt was sat near Bonucci, Barzagli and Chiellini at the ceremony in which he won the 2018 Golden Boy award. If that’s true, then you certainly can’t fault their commitment to the cause.
