According to a recent report from Tuttopsort, Juventus vice president and former club legend Pavel Nedved has met with Mino Raiola in order to try and lure Matthijs de Ligt over to the club. The Ajax captain, who helped lead his side to the Champions League semi finals this past season, is expected to cost around £70 million. It’s starting to seem as if French champions Paris Saint-Germain will be the ones to win the race for his signature, but you just never know what to expect when it comes to a transfer deal of this magnitude. For the longest time it felt as if Barcelona were going to be the ones who secured his signature, and yet in recent weeks, the appear to have fallen out of contention.

The potential departure of Matthijs is easily one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer thus far, and it really does feel like we’re far from getting a resolution to the story.
