“Manchester City? No, frankly, it’s always good that clubs are interested in you, but today I do not have the head abroad. I’m focusing on OM, and I see nothing but that.”
These were the words of Boubacar Kamara during a recent interview with Canal+, as he confirmed that there is no validity to the rumours currently linking him with a move to Manchester City. The teenage sensation has been heavily tipped with a switch to the Etihad but it appears as if that isn’t going to happen, as much as their fans would hope otherwise.
City seem to be interested in investing in young stars as opposed to just big names these days, and it certainly feels like a big part of the influence behind that change in ideology comes from Pep Guardiola who has always been able to get the best out of his youth stars, regardless of the club he’s been at.
