Making their final preparations before heading into this summer’s delayed European Championships, France will welcome Bulgaria to Paris for a friendly showdown on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, eventually cruising their way to a 3-0 romp against Wales on home soil last week, it is no surprise that France are one of the standout picks heading into the summer. With a star-studded squad that includes the likes of PSG talisman Kylian Mbappe, there is no doubt that Head Coach Didier Deschamps will be hoping for the returning Karim Benzema to reopen his international account on Tuesday night. Despite missing a penalty against The Dragons in Paris last week, it was a hugely impressive display by the Real Madrid man and underlined what has been a stellar campaign for the Spanish giants. Forging his way back into France’s set-up, the one-time Lyon striker recorded 30 goals across all formats this season and should be smelling a golden chance in midweek.

As for the visitors, once again missing out on the chance to book their spot at a major tournament, The Lions face what should be another mountain of a task in midweek. Suffering a deserved 1-0 loss when they faced off against Russia on their travels over the weekend, Kiril Despodov’s side are now without a win in their last seven straight contests, a run that also saw them drastically struggle in March’s World Cup qualifiers. Opening up their campaign with back-to-back 3-1 and 2-0 defeats against Switzerland and a resurging Italy earlier in the year, Bulgaria have also gained a continued reputation for their struggles in the final third. Suffering a 4-1 drumming when they last made the trip to Paris back in 2016, we’re backing a similar tough night for Despodov’s men.
