Keita could be Liverpool’s new number eight

Talksport understand that Naby Keita is ready to take Liverpool’s iconic number eight shirt as he looks to finalise his move from RB Leipzig this week.

The Guinea international signed a deal with the Premier League outfit last summer and will be registered as a Reds player from July 1st.

Nobody has worn Liverpool’s number eight shirt since Steven Gerrard left for MLS side LA Galaxy in 2015 but Keita has been allegedly signing autographs with an ‘8’ attached.

Keita racked up seventy-one appearances in two seasons with Leipzig, scoring seventeen goals while he managed twenty goals in eighty-one outings for previous club Red Bull Salzburg.

Internationally, he has been capped twenty-eight times for his country, scoring five goals.

Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League last season and were runners-up in the Champions League.

They can be backed at a price of 1/4 to end the 2018/19 campaign in the top four.
