Competition: Bundesliga

Market: Koln win

Odds: 21/20 @ Bet 365

Knowing that three points on Friday would see them break into the top half of the Bundesliga table, a high-flying Koln will make the trip to a downbeat Benteler-Arena this week.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was another sluggish display and hit with a deserved 2-0 defeat away at Mainz last weekend, Paderborn have continued on what has been a woeful Bundesliga return. Still sat at the bottom of the table and nine points adrift of safety, Steffen Baumgart’s men have lost their last three matches on the bounce and have failed to land a single victory since the 25th of January. Continuing to show some glaring issues at the back and also losing their last three straight matchups at the Benteler-Arena, it should also be noted that Paderborn were also hit with a 3-0 hammering when they faced off against Koln earlier in the season.

As for the visitors, shocking many across Germany last weekend and picking up what was a thumping 3-0 win over Champions League hopefuls Schalke, Koln have cemented their spot as one of the Bundesliga surprise packages this season. Undoubtedly still boosted by what was a scintillating 5-0 win away at Hertha Berlin last month, the top-flight returners know that three points on Friday will see them break into the top half of the table. Picking up a 3-0 win when they welcome Paderborn to the RheinEnergieStadion back in October, Koln also landed a 4-2 win away at Europa League outfit Eintracht Frankfurt over the festive period. With the mood in their camp at a season-high, we’re backing an away victory on Friday night.
