Kompany considered for Belgium job

According to a recent report from RTBF, Vincent Kompany is one of the frontrunners to become the new Belgium manager.

Alongside the likes of Philippe Clement and Thierry Henry, it appears as if the former Manchester City defender and current Burnley manager is potentially being lined up for the international job of his home nation. It comes in the wake of Roberto Martinez stepping down as a result of the Red Devils’ poor performance at the World Cup in Qatar.

In addition to being a former Belgium international himself, Kompany appears to be doing wonders with Burnley as they prepare for a real promotion push.

If they’re serious about going again in time for Euro 2024 they need a fresh change of direction, and bringing in someone like Kompany – who knows what it’s like to fail at this level – could be exactly what they need to revive what’s left of this ageing squad.
