Kompany set for new Manchester City deal

Vincent Kompany is set to sign a new one-year deal at Manchester City, according to the Mail Online.

The Belgium international is currently in his eleventh campaign with the Citizens, having signed from Hamburg in the summer of 2008.

Since then, he has racked up three hundred and forty-seven appearances in all competitions, scoring nineteen goals while he has been part of the squads that won the league title in 2012, 2014 and 2018.

He also has three winner’s medals in the EFL Cup, and he lifted the FA Cup in 2011 while he was named the club’s Player of the Season in 2012.

Internationally, he has been capped eighty-seven times for his country, with five of those outings coming at last summer’s World Cup finals last summer, where Belgium finished third.

Manchester City travel to Newport County in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, and they are the 5/4 favourites to win the competition.
