Lazio want Chelsea striker on free transfer

Interesting news are coming out of Italy yet again. Lazio are currently fighting with everything they have got to stay in the title race, after beating Inter Milan last weekend. They are currently just one point behind Juventus, the current Serie A champions, but it looks like the club from Rome is also focused on the upcoming summer transfer window.

At least, that is what the Sun are suggesting with their report that Lazio have set their sights on Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman is set to become a free agent in June if he does not sign a new deal with the Blues, which right now seems unlikely.

The Italian club have offered the Frenchman the chance to move to Stadio Olimpico this summer. Giroud is free to agree terms with Lazio outside of the transfer window since he is in his final six months of the contract, with Chelsea happy to let his contract run down at Stamford Bridge.
