Leeds United have completed and confirmed the signing of Kristoffer Klaesson from Norwegian side Valerenga for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper is a product of the academy at Valerenga, who earned first-team promotion in 2019 having represented Norway at every youth level. Since then, he made a total of 57 appearances for the club, keeping a clean sheet on 13 occasions. He arrives to Elland road to provide cover and competition for 21-year-old Illan Meslier, who put in a number of most impressive performances for Leeds after their return to the Premier League last year.
Klaesson is the sixth addition of the summer for Marcelo Bielsa’s team, following the arrivals of midfielder Lewis Bate from Chelsea, left-back Junior Firpo from Barcelona, winger Jack Harrison after a loan from Manchester City, midfielder Sean McGurk from Wigan’s youth setup, and winger Amari Mille from the academy at Birmingham City.
The young shot-stopper has signed a four-year contract with the club.
