Leeds United want to sign Everton centre-back Ben Godfrey

Leeds United are interested in signing Ben Godfrey from Everton before the January transfer window closes on Thursday, according to Football Transfers. The report has claimed that Leeds, who are aiming to win automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of the season, are likely to make a second offer for Godfrey after having their first bid turned down.

Daniel Farke’s Leeds made a loan offer for Godfrey, but Everton, who are aiming to avoid the dreaded drop from the Premier League at the end of the season, turned it down. The West Yorkshire club are likely to make a second offer for the 26-year-old English defender.

Football Transfers has reported that Leeds head coach Daniel Farke is personally pushing for a move for Godfrey. Farke worked with the defender at Norwich City and believes that he could help the team get promoted to the Premier League.
