Leicester City are said to be close to securing a deal for Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira.
The 24-year-old Portugal international is a subject of a £25 million bid from the Foxes, the Portuguese media have reported.
Porto defender is under a £33 million release fee but the English side are hoping to secure his signature for a lower fee due to an add-on and bonus structure presented in their offer.
Leicester City have been actively exploring right-back options and believe Pereira is the best choice to fill in a deficient position.
Pereira made 25 league appearances for Porto this season, scoring two goals in the process. He has been named in Portugal’s provisional squad for next month’s World Cup finals and Leicester City are said to be in a hurry to complete a deal before the competition in Russia begins.
Portugal are standing at 22/1 betting odds to add the World Cup title to their European crown.
