Lichaj close to Hull City switch

ESPN understands that Hull City are closing in on a deal for Nottingham Forest defender Eric Lichaj.

The United States international has spent the last five seasons at the City Ground, racking up one hundred and eighty-eight appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals.

Two of those strikes came in a thrilling 4-2 victory over Arsenal in the third round of last season’s FA Cup – one of which was selected as the goal of the round.

He penned a fresh one-year deal in January though now looks set to move on amid a squad shake-up by manager Aitor Karanka.

Prior to his switch to Forest, he had loan spells with Lincoln City, Leyton Orient and Leeds United having began his career with Aston Villa.

He has been capped fifteen times by his country with his last appearance coming in last month’s 3-0 friendly victory over Bolivia in Pennsylvania.
