According to a recent report from Daily Mirror, Jesse Lingard is ready to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window.
The belief from Lingard’s point of view is that he believes leaving the club will help to “rescue” his chances of going to next year’s World Cup in Qatar with England.
Lingard managed to rediscover his top form during a loan spell with West Ham last season and while he’s had a few bright moments since returning to Old Trafford, the competition for places in the starting XI is as fierce as ever.
Jesse Lingard has never been one to lie down and not fight back and if there’s even a slim chance he could vault back into Gareth Southgate’s thought process by leaving the Red Devils, he’ll consider it.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, on the other hand, needs to figure out a way to both manage his squad effectively and keep his star players happy.
