Liverpool aim to keep Wijnaldum

According to a recent report from Calciomecato, Liverpool have made their move to ensure Georginio Wijnaldum stays at the club.

The Dutchman is set to be out of a contract next summer, and with many top clubs reportedly being interested in signing him, the Reds have some work to do if they’re serious about keeping him on the books.

He currently doesn’t have a new deal in place and would be open to discussing pre-contract agreements with other clubs when the January transfer window rolls around, but if this report is to be believed, Liverpool are now starting to put the pieces in place that could see him remain at Anfield after all.

If they want to do so, however, they’ll almost certainly need to guarantee him some more time in the starting XI – and that’s going to be tough given the overwhelming strength of their midfielder at full strength.
