Liverpool return in Gerrard’s future?

According to a recent report from Sunday Mirror, Steven Gerrard is being lined up as the possible long-term replacement for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager.

There is increasing doubt over the future of Klopp at Anfield, and while that may seem like a ridiculous thing to say, even the man himself has spoken about his desire to not stay in one place for too long in the past. There’s no doubt that this is the toughest spell of his tenure on Merseyside and while some may disagree with that, it’s hard to fall so fast so quickly when you’ve tasted success so regularly.

On the flip side, Gerrard is flourishing with Rangers both in the Scottish Premier League and in the UEFA Europa League. It seems inevitable that he’ll venture back over to Liverpool at some point in the future, but nobody really knows the timeline – which is unsettling for both sets of supporters.
