Liverpool are open to selling both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet, according to The Telegraph.
There are serious doubts as to whether Karius is capable of recovering from the psychological effects of the two mistakes he made in the Champions League final and the abuse he received in the aftermath. He fumbled again in a pre-season friendly, enabling Tranmere Rovers to get back into the contest and his confidence seems to be even more shaken since. Meanwhile, Liverpool signed Alisson Becker from AS Roma for a world-record transfer fee for a goalkeeper, and there’s no doubt about the Brazilian being the first pick between the posts for Jürgen Klopp. Karius recently expressed doubts about his future at the club, with Bayer Leverkusen interested in his services after selling Bernd Leno to Arsenal.
Mignolet, on the other hand, expressed doubts of his own as soon as he was permanently benched back in January, stating that he would be unwilling to act as anybody’s understudy at the age of 30. There is interest from Besiktas and Barcelona for the Belgian, but given the reason of his dissatisfaction at Liverpool, it’s hard to see him moving to Catalonia.
