Liverpool will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday over the future of Arne Slot as the manager, according to a report.
It has been reported that Liverpool, who won the Premier League title last season but may not even finish in the top five in the 2025-26 campaign, will ask former Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso if he would be willing to take charge of the first team right now.
Alonso has been without a managerial job since January, when he parted company with Real Madrid.

Liverpool’s planned talks on Tuesday over Slot come after the Reds lost 2-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion away from home at the American Express Stadium in the Premier League last weekend.
Slot’s side are now fifth in the league table with 49 points from 31 matches, five points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa and a point ahead of Chelsea, who are currently sixth.
