Lovren linked with Italy switch

Out of favour Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has emerged as a target for a trio of Serie A sides, according to the Mirror.

With Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk well established as the Reds’ first choice centre-back partnership and Joe Gomez closing in on a return to fitness, the Croatia international is well down the pecking order at Anfield, despite playing in both the European Championship and Champions League finals in the last twelve months.

He has played in less than a third of Liverpool’s league games so far this season and racked up just thirteen appearances in total across all competitions but is being considered as a transfer target for Roma, Napoli and AC Milan.

Prior to his move to Merseyside Lovren spent a year with Southampton, which followed a four-year stint in Ligue 1 at Lyon.

Liverpool will look to tighten their grip on top spot in the Premier League as they host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon and the home win is priced at 11/20.
