According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Manchester City are set to announce the signing of Joao Cancelo from Juventus imminently. The belief is that the Portuguese international was in Manchester yesterday in order to complete his medical, with the report indicating that the club are going to pay around £27 million in order to secure his services – sending Danilo, the Brazilian international, in the opposite direction.
This proposed move has been in the works for pretty much the entire summer transfer window, and will serve as one of City’s only primary signings of the summer.
Of course, when you take one look at their squad you soon realise that they don’t need to strengthen all that much, but it’s still nice to add some reinforcements.
If the deal does go through, then we should expect to see Cancelo featuring in City’s starting XI from the first day of the season onwards.
