Man City step up chase for Cancelo

According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Manchester City have stepped up their bid to sign Joao Cancelo. They are said to have offered Juventus a fee of around £53 million in order to secure the services of the defender, with Juve being willing to sell him in order to raise funds for their summer spending. It’s no secret that Juventus will be busy in the summer transfer window, whereas City probably only need one or two more key signings to bolster their squad even more. Both clubs are set to be amongst the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League next season, and the fact that they aren’t in the final this time around will undoubtedly be spurring them on to try and make another go at the competition this time next season. Cancelo, on the other hand, is widely considered to be one of the most well-rounded defenders on the planet, which tells you what a good acquisition it would be for City.
