Man United to pay £80m for Maguire?

According to a recent report from Sky sources, Manchester United are willing to pay upwards of £80 million in order to try and secure the signing of Leicester City defender Harry Maguire. The world record fee for a defender is £75 million, which was set by United’s rivals Liverpool when they were able to bring in Virgil van Dijk from Southampton 18 months ago.

Maguire still have four years left to run on his current contract with the Foxes, with Leicester themselves insinuating that he isn’t going to be for sale regardless of the price. However, as the summer transfer window has gone on, it has felt like Maguire has been edging closer and closer towards the exit door.

One way or another it seems unlikely that he’s going to end up at the King Power Stadium next season, and for the time being, it doesn’t really look like Manchester City are willing to maintain their interest in the Englishman.

    80 million for Maguire?
They could get a strong replacement and 2-3 players they normally couldn’t buy.
Man U. would be silly to offer more,
and Leicester would be silly to not sell at this point.
