Man United’s Koulibaly bid was rejected

According to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport, Italian side Napoli wound up rejecting an £82 million bid from Manchester United for Kalidou Koulibaly. The Senegalese defender has been one of the most sought after defenders of the summer transfer window. United had launched the bid just prior to the transfer window closing in England, as they attempted to bolster their defensive options.

United managed to bring Harry Maguire in from Leicester City so it didn’t matter all too much in the long run, and in terms of their finances, it was probably a good thing that the bid was rejected.

Koulibaly will continue to be the kind of player that is expected to leave his current club during each and every summer transfer window, but in terms of it actually coming to fruition, we tend to think he’s pretty happy with where he’s at right now over in Italy.
