Manchester City eyeing Benfica goalkeeper

Despite offloading Joe Hart to Torino and bringing Claudio Bravo from his former club Barcelona, Manchester City manager is not happy with the goalkeeping options that are at his disposal.

The Spaniard is thus looking to add fresh blood and increase competition for places on goal with Benfica shot stopper Ederson Moraes identified as the top transfer target, according to Portugal media outlet Abola.

The 23-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper is a highly-rated footballer in Portugal and Benfica are unlikely to let him go without a proper fight.

What is more, the Portugal giants have just tied down their rising star to a new long-term contract with a €60 million release clause inserted, which means that the Citizens would be forced to splash out a significant amount of money if they want to make a deal go through in the summer.

The talented shot-stopper has made 14 Primeira Liga appearances for Benfica this season.
