Manchester City want Morilla

According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester City are interested in signing Sporting Gijon youngster Pelayo Morilla. The Premier League champions appear to be focusing much more of their attention on going after young & hungry players these days, as opposed to solely going after the big names – and it definitely feels like Pep Guardiola has played a big role in that.

The 17 year old, who has been called up to the Spain under-19s squad this year, has been turning heads with Gijon down in the second tier of Spanish football. The midfielder has been able to showcase a maturity beyond his years in the last few months, proving that it’s certainly possible to combine your skills on the pitch with a smart mind regardless of your age.

City are currently in full control of the Premier League title race, and they’ll look to strengthen their squad even further during the January transfer window.
