Manchester United go after Godin

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United have contacted Atletico Madrid regarding a potential deal for Diego Godin. The 32-year-old defender has spent the last eight years of his career with the Spanish club, but now, it seems as if more and more clubs around Europe are progressively starting to recognise his potential.

Godin was able to once again prove why he’s one of the best defenders in the game during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where he helped Uruguay to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament. Now, however, the priority switches back to domestic football once again, with United seemingly looking towards a desperate Deadline Day transfer.

The Red Devils have had an up and down summer transfer window up to this point, and as we look ahead to the start of their season tomorrow, it seems as if Jose Mourinho is eager to finalise one more deal before it closes.
