Manchester United keeping tabs on Sporting CP duo

Premier League outfit Manchester United have sent a scout to Portugal to watch two Sporting CP midfielders, A Bola has reported.

A Manchester United scout was spotted by the Iberian media at Sporting CP’s match at Moreirense on Saturday night, when Jorge Jesus’s men moved into the top spot with the win achieved thanks to the solitary goal from Islam Silmani.

Manchester United scout was watching the game with a particular focus on two Sporting CP midfielders – Joao Mario and William Carvalho.

Joao Mario has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid in recent weeks and Manchester United are apparently ready to engage in the race for a highly-rated star who has recently signed a new deal with the Portuguese giants that is likely to keep him around until 2020, unless interested parties are willing to pay a €60 million release clause included in the new deal.

When it comes to William Carvalho, the 24-year-old holding midfielder has long been linked with a move to the Premier League as he has regularly been connected to Arsenal in the past few seasons.
