Manchester United target dismisses Old Trafford move

Atletico Madrid keeper David De Gea reveals he has not been unsettled following Manchester United interest.

Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly sees David De Gea as the perfect successor for Edwin van der Sar, and he even watched the Spanish keeper last weekend when Valencia played host to Atletico.

The 19-year-old goalie is aware of Manchester United interest but he insists he wants to stay at Vicente Calderon.

“I learned the next day (of Ferguson’s visit) on TV and news. I think rather than watching me he came to scout Valencia, the team they are facing in the Champions League,” said De Gea.

“The important thing is I have a contract here and I am Atleti player until 2013. That’s what matters. The truth is that everything is turning out nicely here for me and my family, which is what I need, and my friends. I think that is very important.

“I have a contract until 2013 and when the season is finished we’ll see how the things are going and if there is any need for talk.”
