According to a recent report from Daily Star, Manchester United could end up making a move for Gareth Bale this summer.
The main way in which the stars would align for this to become reality is if their pursuit of Jadon Sancho winds up falling through, with United reportedly being frustrated by the manner in which Borussia Dortmund are going about their business.
The Real Madrid star Bale has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu for years now, but the big question has always been this: what club will be able to afford him?
United would probably fit the bill as a team that is more than capable of putting their front foot forward in that regard, but they definitely wouldn’t be able to afford both.
Sancho is the future and Bale is the present with the latter slowly but surely moving out of his prime – at least, in the eyes of the fans.
