Manchester United want Rakitic

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United are set to challenge Inter Milan in the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic. The Croatian sensation is currently under contract at the Nou Camp until 2021, but even with that being the case, it’s clear to see that he’s entertaining the possibility of a move away from the club this summer. He is said to fear that his place in the starting XI is under threat, with both de Jong and Arthur being tipped to have starring roles next season. If that does wind up being the case, then it’d be smart for Rakitic to get out now in order to establish himself at a new club over the course of the pre-season this summer.

Inter have been interested in bringing Rakitic to the San Siro for quite some time now, which makes it all the more unusual that United have decided to pop up at the eleventh hour.
