Manchester United withdraw Lewandowski interest

Manchester United have withdrawn their interest in Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, according to the Express.

The Poland international is set to leave the Westfalenstadion at the end of the season, after four years with the club where so far he has scored 84 goals in 148 appearances.

Dortmund’s fierce Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich were favourites to secure his services, though reports that the player had signed a pre-contract agreement with the European Champions have been denied.

Premier League champions United have long been linked with Lewansdowski, though the form of Wayne Rooney appears to have convinced manager David Moyes’ that he need not look elsewhere for a star striker.

Chelsea are also interested in the former Lech Poznan man, while Barcelona are also monitoring the situation.

The 25 year old has six goals in ten league appearances so far this season, and is priced at 11/4 to add to that tally with the opener against Stuttgart this evening.
