March 17th: Sunday’s European Double – 11/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

As the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all look to punch their respective FA Cup semi-final tickets on Sunday afternoon, we certainly have a host of heavyweight affairs from across the continent.

On a Sunday schedule that also sees Juventus try and shore up their spot in this season’s Champions League chase, there are plenty of eye-catching betting markets that are worth taking note of.

So, for those of you looking to stick on a Sunday flutter, we have found a couple of the most intriguing betting markets.

11:30 Juventus vs Genoa

Dealing with a string of public issues behind the scenes in Turin last season, it appears that Juventus are sat in the driving seat to punch a lucrative Champions League return in 2024. However, despite gaining a string of plaudits prior to opening the New Year, Sunday’s hosts are seeking a recent boost and they will know the importance of making a top-four statement this weekend.

Although Massimiliano Allegri’s men might have been last seen claiming a lively 2-2 stalemate at home against Atalanta, the Old Lady have recorded just a single victory from any of their previous seven straight Serie A appearances – a run that stems back to January 21st.

While Juventus might be sat as a landslide favourite here, they have continued to show some worrying recent defensive issues.

Opening March with a 2-1 loss at the hands of defending champions Napoli, Allegri’s side have shipped a pair of goals in all of their previous four appearances across all competitions.

Likewise, Juve have also failed to muster a single clean sheet from any of their last seven domestic showdowns on the bounce.

Although Genoa might have only made their Serie A return this season, Sunday’s guests appear to be cruising their way to top-flight safety this time around.

However, despite gaining a reputation for their gritty approach under Alberto Gilardino, the Griffins have recorded just a single victory from any of their previous six Serie A appearances.

Last seen falling to a frantic 3-2 defeat at home against Monza, they have largely struggled to find any kind of stability on either side of Italy’s festive break.

Although Genoa might be fancying their chances of troubling a leaky Juventus defence here, Gilardino’s men certainly face a stern examination here.

12:45 Chelsea vs Leicester

While Chelsea might have turned to Mauricio Pochettino last summer in an attempt to steady the ship at Stamford Bridge, it is fair to say that the Blues have once again struggled with their consistency this season. Knowing that they are seeking a minor miracle in their bid to book a crucial European return in 2024, Sunday’s hosts appear to have all of their eggs placed in this year’s FA Cup basket.

Claiming what was a thrilling 3-2 victory against Newcastle earlier in the week, the former Tottenham boss will be desperate to use that action-packed display as a platform to build on.

Despite suffering EFL Cup final heartbreak at Wembley on February 25th, Chelsea are unbeaten in all of their other six domestic appearances across all competitions.

However, despite extending on their FA Cup adventure earlier in the month as they secured another 3-2 win against historic rivals Leeds, Pochettino will have a headache over his side’s extended issues at the back.

Along with shipping a pair of goals in all of their last three appearances, the former Premier League champions have also recorded just a single clean sheet from their previous nine outings.

While Leicester might have opened the New Year in the midst of a record-breaking Championship romp, the Foxes are enduring a recent wobble.

Now looking over their shoulder in the bid to book an immediate Premier League return in 2024, Sunday’s guests have recorded just a single victory from any of their last six appearances within 90 minutes.

Opening March with a woeful 2-1 loss at home against Championship relegation scrappers QPR, Leicester have shown their own defensive strugglers.

Hit with a 2-1 defeat when they last travelled to Stamford Bridge back in August 2022, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
