Competition: Premier League
Market: Marcus Rashford to score anytime
Odds: 23/20 @ 888sport
In what is one of the Premier League’s most iconic rivalries, Manchester United will welcome Leeds to an empty Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Manchester United might have seen leading relegation scrappers Sheffield United mount a spirited display earlier in the week, the Reds did manage to leave Bramall Lane with a 3-2 win. Despite their Champions League exit earlier in the month, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have landed an eye-catching 16 points from just their last six Premier League contests. Knowing victory this weekend would see them break back into the top-four, the former champions will be calling on attacking talisman Marcus Rashford to extend on his recent purple patch at Old Trafford. Bagging himself a brace against the Blades last time out, the England international has now racked up four goals in his last five matchups across all formats and the 23-year-old will be confident of cashing in once again on Sunday.
As for the visitors, while they might have left it late against Newcastle in midweek, Leeds eventually managed to leave Elland Road with what was a rollercoaster 5-2 win on home soil. Marking their Premier League return over the summer and already seen as one of England’s must-watch outfits, Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa will now be desperate for his side to find some stability. Still finding themselves battling it out in the bottom half of the table, the one-time Napoli boss will undoubtedly be calling for his squad to also make some alterations at the back. Along with shipping a pair of strikes against the Magpies last time out, Leeds have shipped at least a pair of strikes in five of their last seven top-flight contests on the bounce. With their issues highlighted by a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Crystal Palace last month, the Whites could be in for another tough test.
