May 22nd: Sunday’s Football Accumulator – 17/1

With Europe’s elite during a close to the 2021/22 campaign this weekend, we have a host of eye-catching meetings from across the footballing globe. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Sunday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth taking note of.

Sunday May 22nd

BST 11:30 Spezia vs Napoli

Starting with Sunday’s guests, while Napoli might have shown some extended issues since opening 2022, it does appear that the Italian heavyweights have put those issues behind them. Managing to wrap up a bronze medal finish with time to spare, the Azzurri also have a Champions League return to look forward to for next season. Last seen picking up a routine 3-0 romp at home against Genoa, Head Coach Luciano Spalletti has seen his side win each of their last three Serie A contests. Simply looking to sign off their eye-catching campaign with a flurry this weekend, the Blues have also continued to shine in the final third over recent weeks. Including a thumping 6-1 win at home against Sassuolo back on April 30th, Napoli have won each of their last three top-flight matchups by an aggregate score of 10-1. With attacking talisman Victor Osimhen now racking up seven goals in just his last eight domestic outings, Spalletti’s side should be smelling a chance here. On the flip side, while Spezia might have managed to draw a line under their four-match losing run last weekend, Thiago Motta’s men will know that they face a real task on Sunday morning. Despite extending on their Serie A status for another season, it should be noted that the Eagles suffered a 4-1 defeat the last time Napoli visited the Stadio Alberto Picco.

Tip: Victor Osimhen to score anytime & Napoli win @ 11/8

16:00 Norwich vs Tottenham

While Tottenham might not have been at their best last weekend, Spurs did manage to extend on what has been a real domestic purple patch under Antonio Conte. Last seen picking up a gritty 1-0 win against relegation scrappers Burnley, the one-time Inter Milan boss finds his side sat in pole position to book a Champions League return this season. Knowing that jus a single point on Sunday will be enough to book their top-four ticket, fans around the white half of north London should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Laying down a stunning marker as they breezed past bitter rivals Arsenal thanks to a 3-0 romp on May 12th, Conte’s men have now lost just one of their previous 10 matchups, a run that stems back to the middle of March. Handed what appears to be a golden chance this weekend, it is well worth keeping an eye out for England skipper, Harry Kane. Converting from the spot against Burnley last time out, Spurs’ attacking icon has now recorded four goals in as many Premier League outings. As for Norwich, while they might have managed to snatch a point away at Wolves seven days ago, Dean Smith’s squad have endured another top-flight nightmare. Freefalling their way back down to the Championship, the former Aston Villa boss has seen his side record just a single Premier League victory since way back on January 21st.

Tip: Harry Kane to score 2+ goals @ 14/5

22:00 New York City vs Chicago Fire

Starting with Sunday’s hosts, impressing many across America last season as they clinched their first MLS Cup, New York City have certainly kept up that momentum this time around. Last seen earlier in the week when putting in another impressive display as they landed a deserved 2-0 victory away at DC United, the Pigeons are tipped as a leading contender to win the Eastern Conference this year. In the midst of what has become a remarkable purple patch, Head Coach Ronny Deila finds his side in the midst of an eight-match unbeaten run across all formats. Likewise, it should also be noted, the Blues have now picked up a staggering 16 points from just their last six MLS contests. Continuing to shine at both ends of the pitch, the one-time Celtic boss also has one attacking talisman enjoying his own stellar run of form. Once again finding the net away at DC United a few days ago, Valentin Castellanos has now racked up seven strikes in just his last five appearances. Including a stunning quartet against Real Salt Lake last month, Deila’s high-flying squad should be smelling another golden chance on Sunday night. While NYCFC might be battling it out at the top of the Eastern Conference, the same cannot be said for Chicago. On a run that is highlighted by a shock 3-2 loss against lower-league Union Omaha in the US Open Cup last month, the Fire have now failed to win any of their last nine straight outings.

Tip: New York City win by 2+ goals @ 1/1
