According to Sky Sports, Mick McCarthy would welcome the opportunity to speak with Aston Villa about potentially becoming their new manager. The Yorkshire boss is considered to be a legendary figure in the English game, if only for his charming personality throughout the years. His honesty in press conferences has made him a big fan favourite, and now, he appears to be preparing to move back into the management game after some time away.

This wouldn’t be his first time managing in the Midlands and it wouldn’t be his first time pushing for promotion, either, after helping Wolverhampton Wanderers to force their way into the Premier League almost a decade ago. Now, however, he’d be entering a job that would be quite the high pressure situation for him, given just how many fans are expecting them to go one step further than they did last season by gaining promotion back into the top flight.
