Mee expected to leave Burnley

According to a recent report from The Athletic, Burnley are expecting Ben Mee to leave the club this summer when his contract expires.

James Tarkowski is also set to leave the Clarets via this way with offers now being on the table from other clubs, likely in the Premier League. Mee spoke with Burnley over the prospect of extending his deal but wanted to focus on trying to survive and avoid relegation, which they were ultimately unable to do.

Mee has been out of action since March and helped as part of the caretaker management team, largely as a result of his coaching experience as well as the fact he’s been with the club for over a decade.

There’s no telling where he’s going to end up but at the age of 32, he could still have a few genuinely strong years in the top flight of the English game before veering into coaching.
