Looking to build off of their stunning display last time out, Melbourne City will make the trip to a stalling Macarthur on Saturday morning.

Starting with the hosts, although Macarthur might have opened April enjoying a real purple patch, Australia’s latest franchise are enduring a recent wobble. Despite still managing to hold onto their position in the Final Series spots, The Whites were last seen throwing away the lead against a struggling Newcastle Jets on home soil. Eventually having to settle for a disappointing 2-2 draw at The Campbelltown Stadium, Ante Milicic’s men have mustered just a single point from their last three A-League contests. Coming under some scrutiny for their back-to-back 3-1 and 2-1 defeats against Adelaide and Brisbane, Macarthur should also be worried by their most recent meeting against Saturday’s guests. When The Bulls faced off against the league leaders last month, The Blues landed a thumping 3-0 victory.

As for the visitors, last seen earlier in the month facing off against rivals Melbourne Victory, The Blues laid down what was the most clinical of markers. With their sights firmly set on reclaiming their A-League crown this season, Patrick Kisnorbo landed a stunning 7-0 win on home soil and the mood in their camp should be at a red-hot high. Opening this weekend still holding a buffer at the top of the table, it is well worth keeping an eye out for leading marksman and attacking talisman Jamie Maclaren. Putting on a remarkable display in the Melbourne derby, the 27-year-old bagged himself five goals earlier in the month and has recorded 19 goals in just 16 A-League matchups so far this season. With The Blues picking up that 3-0 win against Macarthur last month, we’re backing a similar away win this weekend.
