Mignolet keen for Liverpool stay

Simon Mignolet is ready to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool, according to the Mail Online.

The Belgium international is currently being kept out of Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI by Loris Karius after a drop in form which hasn’t seen him play since the FA Cup fourth round defeat to West Bromwich Albion on January 27th.

The last of his nineteen league appearances this season came on New Years’ Day and in total he has played one hundred and ninety-five times since signing from Sunderland in the summer 2013.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland who is almost certain to move on in the summer, not least if the Potters fail to retain their top flight status.

However Mignolet, who is in the Belgium squad for Tuesday’s friendly against Saudi Arabia is keen to stay with the Merseyside outfit and prove his worth.
