(GSM) – Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has targeted improvements for Brazilian pair Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato.

The Brazilian duo have been rumoured to be heading for an exit from San Siro, with Pato a reported target of Chelsea and Ronaldinho linked with Flamengo.

With no moves having materialised, new Milan coach Allegri is looking for improvement from the pair as he attempts to bring the Scudetto back to the club for the first time since 2004.

Concerning Ronaldinho, who struck 12 goals in the league last season, Allegri said: “There’s no doubt about the technical quality of Ronaldinho. He is an extraordinary player that has world class quality.

“But in today’s football you need more than that.

“We need to construct a balanced group and the strength of a team is for all the players to work for the group in order to obtain a good result.

“Ronaldinho has so much quality that he can make a difference.

“The team needs to play for him but at the same time he needs to play for the team.

“He is a very important player and I expect a lot from him.”

However, Ronaldinho’s compatriot Pato had a injury ravaged season but still managed to find the net 12 times in 20 league appearances.

But Allegri believes Pato can still improve, saying: “Pato is 20 years old. He is an extraordinary talent who has a lot of room for improvement.

“He has an incredible physical and technical quality that not even he knows about.

“But at 20, he needs to mature as a person even if from a football standpoint he is a phenomenon.”
