Milan’s Galliani not expecting new arrivals

(GSM) – Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has revealed that the Lombardy based club may not dip into the transfer market this summer.

After a fading title challenge last season, the Rossoneri faithful were expecting to see new faces arrive ahead of the new campaign.

Following a shocking friendly defeat to Serie B side Varese, the Rossoneri’s were expected to bring changes to their squad.

However, Galliani has moved in to dismiss such notions by doubting that the Milan giants wouldn’t adding new faces to the squad.

“Will we work on the market to bring in reinforcements? I doubt it, but we’ll see,” Galliani said.

But the Milan vice president insisted that new coach Massimiliano Allegri will not be forced to sell any big name players, and revealed that along with Gianluca Zambrotta and Massimo Oddo, Gennaro Gattuso will still be at the club next season after clear-the-air talks.

“None of the big stars will be leaving,” Galliani said. “As Inter’s Massimo Moratti says, if you have to make sacrifices then you have to do it with the players who are requested, not the ones who aren’t sought-after.

“Well, the ones who have been requested will not be sold and the others are not sought-after. We cleared the air last night in a meeting with Coach Massimiliano Allegri. I’d say that the skies are blue again.

“I’d like to thank both Gianluca Zambrotta and Massimo Oddo, who will earn in two years only a little more than they had been earning in 12 months. We believe many players could stay with us in 2011-12 too.”
