Millwall 7/5 to beat Blackburn in Saturday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Millwall win

Odds: 7/5 @ 888sport

Looking to make it back-to-back Championship wins this weekend, Millwall will welcome Blackburn to an empty Den on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, managing to make an immediate return to winning ways in midweek, Millwall came from behind as they snatched a late 2-1 victory against Preston on home soil. While many feel that it is too late for the Lions to make a late charge for the play-off positions, the Blues have largely impressed over the past six weeks. Looking to prove that 2-1 defeat against Barnsley last month was just a minor blip, Gary Rowett’s side have lost just a single matchup since January 23rd. Smelling a real chance to make it back-to-back Championship wins this weekend, the former Birmingham boss has seen his side continue to impress on home soil. Including that late win against Preston earlier in the week, Millwall are unbeaten in their last six straight contests at The Den, a run that has also seen them pick up 10 points from their last four matchups in South London.

As for the visitors, only continuing on what has been a hugely worrying run of form, Blackburn have found themselves freefalling down the Championship table. Failing to take their chances away at Reading earlier in the week, Tony Mowbray’s side were hit with a 1-0 loss on their travels and the mood in their camp could be at a real low. On a winless run that stems back to the end of January, the one-time West Brom boss has seen his side pick up just a single point from any of their last seven straight second-tier matchups. Facing what should be a tough trip to the capital this weekend, it should also be noted that the Rovers hold a real reputation for their issues away from Ewood Park. Including that 1-0 loss away at Reading in midweek, Saturday’s guests have lost each of their last four Championship contests on the road.
