Toronto FC goalkeeper Luka Gavran scored a 96th-minute equaliser for his side as they drew 3-3 with the Philadelphia Union at BMO Field.

The Union looked to have secured a win on the road when Nathan Harriel scored in the 89th minute as Philadelphia went 3-2 up, but Gavran rose highest to head in from Alonso Coello’s free-kick deep into stoppage time.

Earlier in the match, Josh Sargent and Kobe Franklin scored to cancel out the Union’s two-goal lead, which came through Milan Iloski and Danley Jean Jacques.

Elsewhere, Tai Baribo scored a hat-trick as D.C. United shared the spoils in a 4-4 draw with the New York Red Bulls.

Julian Hall and Ronald Donkor gave the Red Bulls an early lead before Baribo halved the deficit before the break at Sports Illustrated Stadium.

Jorge Ruvalcaba scored either side of strikes from Jackson Hopkins and Baribo, before the latter completed his treble 10 minutes from time.

There was another eight-goal thriller in New York as FC Cincinnati scored twice in second-half stoppage time to clinch a 4-4 draw with New York City FC.

Nicolas Fernandez and Kevin Denkey scored braces for their respective sides, though Agustin Ojeda and Talles Magno put NYCFC in the driving seat heading into the latter stages.

However, Andrei Chirila pulled a goal back in the 92nd minute before Evander secured a point from the penalty spot three minutes later.

The San Jose Earthquakes, meanwhile, came from behind to defeat Austin FC 5-1, with Jack Jasinski, Timo Werner, Preston Judd (two) and Ousseni Bouda all on the scoresheet for the home side.

Data Debrief: Gavran writes his name into goalkeeping folklore

Gavran became just the third goalkeeper in MLS history to score a goal, and the first since William Hesmer did so for the Columbus Crew against Toronto in October 2010.

Hall (18), meanwhile, became the youngest player in MLS history to score five or more goals in their first six matches of a season.

Evander scored the 44th goal of his MLS career, giving him the record for most goals scored by a Brazilian-born player in league history.
