Modric deal slipping away for Inter Milan

According to Sky Italia, it’s unlikely that Luka Modric will be able to complete his move from Real Madrid to Inter Milan before the 7pm transfer window deadline on Friday night. The 32-year-old Croatian is supposedly very interested in the move to the San Siro, but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez continues to clash with his agents as he desperately tries to keep hold of the World Cup finalist.

Modric, who has had arguably one of the best years of his career, could prove to be a vital piece of the puzzle for Real next season – especially in the wake of losing Cristiano Ronaldo. Real are coming off the back of a humiliating 4-2 defeat against local rivals Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup, leaving many to wonder whether or not this will be the year that we finally see their dominance in European competition come to a crashing halt.
