Mourinho to swoop for Arsenal star Van Persie?

Arsenal fans will be dismayed at the news that Jose Mourinho has labelled Robin van Persie as a potential transfer target, according to Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport.

Inter Milan are believed to be using Mourinho’s expertise in the Premier League to building upon their Serie A winning side for next season, as the Italian team looks for the much desired European success that the board has demanded.

The Nerazzurri have been strongly linked with a number of wingers including Ricardo Quaresma and Mancini, and Van Persie is now being linked as an alternative option if Inter fail to land either player.

The Corriere dello Sport claims that the Dutch striker/winger wants to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer and that Mourinho is looking to cash-in on the players reported unhappiness by offering an escape route out of England.

Arsenal will be unlikely to let the player go cheaply, if it all, and it is believed that a bid of over £15 million will be needed to lure the club into selling the Dutchman.

Van Persie, 24, signed for the Gunners back in 2004 for around £3 million and has since established himself as a firm fans favourite at the Emirates after quality displays and impressive goals.

If the Inter’s bid was successful for the Dutchman the Italian side would be likely to tempt the striker by offering double his wages at the Emirates, which reports suggest would see Van Persie leave the London club.

For f**** sake, the rubbish around Arsenal players gets worse. The Italian equivalent of the Sunday Sport says Robin Van persie wants to leave Arsenal so Inter will sign him? Yeah, and I want an orgy with Girls Aloud, when is it going to happen? Surely a ‘source’ must know? The only player that MAY leave Arsenal is Hleb, and that is unlikely now. Van Persie has repeatedly said how happy he is at Arsenal. Maybe someone at the Corriere dello Sport left their PC signed on overnight and a cleaner got on it and is having a laugh? That’s… Read more »

Mourinho can go to hell. He thinks money can get him anything but lets wait and see how miserably he is going to fail yet again.

I do not believe this at all -RVP is as injury prone as Robben was at Chelsea and Mourinho sold him. in frustration. The days of Italian clubs looking around stating he’s a good player I’ll have him are over. Inter Milan simply do not have the clout or the money. Some one tell Corriere Dello Sport please. This mob are living in the past. As for Mourinho- the guy is a prat.
