Mourinho wants Icardi at Roma

According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma manager Jose Mourinho is interested in trying to sign Mauro Icardi from Paris Saint-Germain.

The striker merry-go-round is becoming progressively more and more complicated by the day with Edin Dzeko heading to Inter Milan, Lukaku heading to Chelsea and Icardi potentially leaving PSG with Lionel Messi coming through the front door.

Mourinho knows that he needs to significantly strengthen his side if Roma are to be in with any chance of making a splash in Serie A this season, and getting in a brand new goalscorer would be a decent way to do just that.

Roma are bound to be in the mix in some way this season but with so very many clubs making noise in the transfer window in Italy, it’s easy to picture a scenario in which they’re let behind – which is something Jose’s reputation and ego can’t afford.
