Munir will not play for Barcelona again

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has informed Munir El Haddadi that he has no intention of selecting him to play for his team again, according to Marca.

The 23-year-old’s Barcelona contract expires in the summer, and he had apparently told the club he had no plans to sign a new one. This decision of his in turn led to Valverde deciding to put his faith into players who have a future at Camp Nou, rather than Munir.

Having been on Barca’s books his entire career so far, Munir has played a total of 56 games and scored 12 goals in all competitions for the Catalan giants, though he spent the last two seasons on loan with Valencia and Alaves, respectively. The club were adamant he should remain with them for this campaign as they had no better backup option for Luis Suarez, but it seems the player has no intention of playing second fiddle to anyone for much longer.

A few days ago, Marca reported that Sevilla had reached an agreement with Munir to sign him on a free transfer in the summer.
