New appointments for FA’s 2018 World Cup bid

The English Football Association have reinforced their 2018 World Cup bid by appointing three high profile members.

David Magliano, former marketing director of London’s 2012 Olympics bid, has been named commercial and marketing director. The FA’s director of corporate affairs Simon Johnson has been appointed as chief operating officer.

Last but not least, the new director of campaign operations will be Jane Bateman, currently the FA’s head of international relations.

So far, six different bids have been confirmed for the 2018 tournament: Australia, Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg, England, Portugal/Spain, Qatar and Russia.
